Incubating a project as part of the Health & Bio Residency is not necessary, but beautiful when it happens! We fully encourage it and support you in your progress with relevant upskilling workshops, pitch practices, and a final Demo Day with international investors.
The kind of progress you can expect to see throughout the month, dependent on funding:
Who? J.P. Medved, Founder @ Longevity Advice
Project: Created a database of longevity therapies with PubMed integration, AI analysis, and ranking algorithms. -Kept automatically up-to-date when new research comes out on PubMed, -More entries than DrugAge, -Useful information for the layman like dosing schedules and safety profiles.
Progress To Be Done:
https://database.longevityadvice.com/
Est. budget: $3,000 for travel from Denver, CO, and $1,000 in Perplexity API credits for the mentioned integrations.

Est. budget: $2,000 for flights from Prospera, Honduras and necessary wet lab consumables & equipment (incl. plasmid expression)
Who? Rich Lee, Founder @ numerous human augmentation projects
Project: Rich focuses on implanted cybernetic devices, gene therapies, and anything longevity-related. He's known for inventing his own headphone implants, undergoing three different gene therapies, and for his support of citizen science and the diy.bio community.
His next endeavour is a gene therapy to efficiently alter melatonin production for personalized aesthetics. He wants to develop this idea and gather a user base during Edge City Patagonia.
Progress To Be Done:
Who? Denisa Lepadatu
Project: No complex biological diseases were ever cured, not without side effects. “Universe conquering” proposes that solving is only possible by obtaining a granular understanding of the biological system. I.e. mapping all molecules and their interactions in a biological system. This will make biology a predictable science, and will turn the risky, misunderstood biotech industry into one with clear outcomes and risks.
The scope of the project is to develop mathematical equations and art supporting this scientific approach and philosophy, to make it more understandable and palpable to scientists, funders, and general audiences.
As the storytelling products are run through members of different communities (incl. Edge City), the project will be turned into a (biological) reality and a start-up.
Progress To Be Done:

Est. budget: $2,000 for travel arrangements

Est. budget: $1,000 for travel and living costs for a week in ECP
Who? Alejandro Ledesma, CEO @ Epiliquid
Project: Alejandro is leading a deeptech and biotech start-up in Buenos Aires, focused on developing AI-driven biomarker detection tools to make cancer diagnosis more accessible. His role is to set the vision and secure the resources to build the first sensitive, affordable, and accessible liquid biopsy technology platform.
Progress To Be Done:
Who? Mati Badano, CEO @ APOLO Biotech
Project: APOLO Biotech develops RNA-based technology to intervene in plant health, crop yields, and disease resistance, in a way that is meant to be more sustainable, precise, and lower-impact than conventional chemical approaches.
Progress To Be Done:

Est. budget: $1,000 for travel arrangements from Santa Fe and living costs for a week in ECP
